May 15 and May 22 3:30pm to 5:30pm
Our attempts at self-improvement are often driven by a desire to control and eliminate negative experiences. The sense that something is wrong with us and the feeling of being constantly at odds with life can underlie everything we do.
These workshops, which focus on self-care rather than self-improvement, will include techniques for grounding, expanding our sensory awareness, and relaxing and energising body and mind.
When we are relaxed and energised in the present moment, we can cultivate non-judgmental awareness, and the capacity to meet physical, mental and emotional vulnerability with kindness and calm. This wisdom and compassion is known as the two wings of the bird of awakening in Buddhism.
Cost: $75 for two sessions, $40 for one session (low-income places always available)
